but i never had an angel

you throw an arrow at me
but i had already received Cupid's
and struggled so far
carrying the only thing i thought could match

not for you is the pretentiousness of a rose
but a sunflower for you are the sun
towards which i look always
following behind, waiting for you to turn around
but i am one of many who have placed you on a pedestal
you, who are out of reach
only my gaze can touch you
for the petals of this flower have fallen
and i cannot offer you a husk of a person in its stead.
